Shayn Horrocks, CFP® | Financial Advisor

I grew up in Boyertown, PA, spending most of my youth playing sports and enjoying the outdoors.

I was fortunate to have many strong mentors along the way, especially my baseball coaches, who helped shape my work ethic and love of teamwork. I attended Boyertown Area Senior High School and also completed a program at Berks Career and Technology Center, where I learned the basics of several trades in residential construction. That hands-on experience gave me a real appreciation for building things from the ground up — a mentality I carry into financial planning every day.

After high school, I went on to study finance at West Chester University. In my junior year, I landed my first internship as a financial planning intern, where I built a strong foundation to start my career. During my second semester of senior year, I accepted a full-time role as a financial advisor’s assistant while finishing my courses at night. In that role, I supported three advisors by preparing for meetings and handling administrative duties. After a little over a year, I moved into a position as a Wealth Planning Assistant, where I updated financial plans and prepared advisors for client meetings. Over the course of just under two years, I personally prepared for more than 300 meetings, gaining exposure to clients from all walks of life and helping them navigate some of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.

My passion for financial planning stems from growing up in a financially complicated environment. That experience drove me to take charge of my own future and inspired me to help others do the same. Combined with my fascination with psychology and how people think about money, these interests naturally led me to a career in financial planning.

That’s what brought me to Great Oak Wealth Management, where I now work as a financial advisor. My job is to make the complex feel manageable – so you can walk into every conversation about your finances feeling informed and confident, not overwhelmed. I’m a CFP® professional. In plain terms, it means I’ve passed one of the most demanding exams in financial planning, met strict experience requirements, and am held to an ethical standard that puts your interests first – not mine.

Outside of work, I live in Lansdale, PA, with my girlfriend, Leslie, and our dog, Dexter. I spend my free time playing slow-pitch softball, nerding out with friends over card games, exploring nature trails, and trying to unplug from technology when I can.
